Let’s celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

May 5, 2023

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! Although this holiday isn’t as popularly celebrated in Mexico, it has become one that is celebrated world wide when May 5th rolls around. I don’t know about you but I love Mexican eats, and any excuse to do a little decorating, entertaining and of course enjoying some tacos and tequila, I’m all for it! So here it is my little take on a Cinco Celebration!

I chose to do a palette of pale turquoise, light peaches, corals, and pops of green through citrus and succulents, and although not a traditional colour palette, it is such a bright fun vibe and I love how it all came together.

Everything tied together so well, from the napkins, to the pots of succulents, the taco holders, the drinks bucket, and even the Ole drinks matched perfectly.

The sweet little potted succulents were just perfect and the best part is they are a great faux floral so I will have them to use anytime! Now on to the eats …

We chose to serve fish tacos, on a corn tortilla with a cabbage slaw and homemade pickled red onions, and of course all the toppings for everyone to perfect their taco experience, don’t forget that squeeze of lime!

I served tortillas in folded down paper bags which I think is just so cute, and of course homemade guacamole and salsa, and some jalapeño corn fritters for some extra dipping action.

We also served street corn with spices, cheese and a cilantro crema, and finally we had to have churros with a decedent chocolate sauce.

The Ole drinks were the perfect addition and we also served refreshing grapefruit palomas!

If you are celebrating, or toasting the town with a little tacos and tequila this weekend I hope my little fiesta made you smile and I hope you have a great weekend ahead!

Cheers!!!
