Fall Home Tour {Part 2}
Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! I spent time with a friend of mine, hit a great barn sale, shopped for some mums and pumpkins, and did a little organizing and rearranging around the house. Speaking of around the house I thought it would be a good time to share part 2 of my fall home tour, before I start to transition to Halloween! Do you decorate for fall and halloween? I do cause I love both, and more so love any excuse to decorate for a season or theme! So today I’ll take you around a bit of our kitchen and eating area, and show you how I brought little touches of fall, and if you missed part one of the fall home tour you can catch it here!
I loved these leaves so much I had to grab some more to use in the kitchen area as well, along with some pumpkins, which have all been given a little refresh by yours truly, stay tuned for more on that coming this week! Although little Miss.Penny may not be fall décor her colours match perfectly for the season don’t you think?!
I got this cute little enamel sign a few years back and I still love it, it also actually has a perfect PSL recipe on it! I also use a new season as an excuse to add another mug to the collection. This cute little pumpkin covered one, I picked up at none other than my happy place {…Homesense} was too perfect to pass up and I just loved the colour of it, it was a must have for my love of lattes, right!?
I also like to switch out my lighter cutting and serving boards to these darker wood tones, along with this little wooden pestle and mortar. I also picked up these cute wood spun apples to bring another element of fall to our cooking tray which I love having a little tray beside the stove with our most used items on it, like olive oil, salt and paper, and flake salt, grouping items on a tray makes it not only functional but pretty to look at!
I love all the different views from around the kitchen and the glimpses of fall through out.
If you have visited the blog or my instagram before, you will probably notice that this urn full of flowers, and footed stand are pretty much a staple on the kitchen table. I just still love it so much, I have this urn in white and in this weathered brown so switch it out, along with the flowers for the seasons. Then I added a few little wood pumpkins to the tray and another in our hutch, I find you don’t need a lot to bring the season into your space.
When I think of fall and bringing in those cozy elements, candles are one of them, with the scents and the flickering of the candle light it creates such a cozy atmosphere. On one side of our island I have this little stand with a scented candle, then across on the other end I have a set of tapered candles, a jar of pretty matches, a bowl full of sweets, and this pretty wood topped glass jar filled with the same little white pumpkins I used in the living room.
This is one of my favourite views into the kitchen, with all the little pops of fall, candles burning, and of course Piper who happened to peek around the island at just the right time, she was probably hoping for a snack! Just below you can see a closer look of this rope handled concrete bowl layered with linen then filled with pumpkins and little wooden acorns, I love to collect and create these inexpensive pumpkins each year. I love how they look and can be used for years to come, so I’m always adding more around our home!
Well that’s a wrap on part two of our fall home tour! I hope you enjoyed a peek into our cozy little space, and maybe even got you a few ideas for your own space this fall. Check back in just a few weeks to see these same spaces get a spooky makeover, think bats, and potions and skeletons, oh my!
