Double Spooky Charcuterie and a Cocktail too!
Happy Sunday and more importantly Happy Halloween! Are you ready for this Hallow’s Eve! Just in case you are still planning some things for tonight I wanted to share with you not one but two quick and easy charcuteries, one sweet one savoury. Of course I had to throw in a spooky cocktail too! So first up let’s get to that cocktail in case you wanted to enjoy one while you are putting together stuff for your evening!
It not only looks pretty it tastes delicious too!
Ingredients
- Two large egg whites
- 2&1/2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 3 ounces of vodka
- 1 ounce Chambord
- 1/2 cup pomegranate or Cranberry Juice ( I prefer the pomegranate)
Directions
- Put ice in glasses to chill & set aside
- Separate egg whites from yokes and discard yokes, add egg whites to cocktail shaker
- Add vodka, Chambord, maple syrup, and pomegranate juice to shaker
- Shake ingredients vigorously for 60 seconds
- Top up cocktail shaker with ice and shake for an additional 60 seconds
- Disgard ice from glasses, & with a cocktail strainer pour ingredients into chilled glasses
Cheers & Enjoy!
Notes:
- Serves 2
- If you do not have a cocktail strainer, you can use a fine mesh sieve
Next up let’s get to those charcuterie boards!
For my charcuterie boards I like to start with any dishes and lay them out in this case it was these adorable little boo bowls! Then I add in my cheeses, then I add on the meats, then fill in with different flavoured crackers, in a few shapes and sizes and fruits! I chose to do fruit that was all deep purple almost black to go with the Halloween theme, figs, blackberries, and black grapes. I also chose to add a dip, Kalamata olives and tamari almonds to stick with a black and white theme on my board. Oh and of course some creepy crawlies!
Next up a sweet charcuterie board!
For the sweet charcuterie I made some skull shaped sugar waffles, aren’t they the cutest and they are tasty at room temp! However you could also pick up some Liege sugar waffles at your local groceries store as well, they are just as tasty and can be served hot or cold. I then added in some fresh strawberries and black berries, little Halloween shaped kit kat chocolates, chocolate and orange frosting sandwich cookies, some chocolate pretzels, cookies and cream pocky sticks, and finally little pumpkin spice marshmallows! I’ll serve this all with a side of whip cream! I love how this sweet little charcuterie turned out!
I love how everything turned out from the cocktails to the charcuteries and can’t wait to enjoy them tonight! I hope this inspired you to create a little cocktail or charcuterie of your own, or better yet both!
Have a Spook-tacular Night!
