Happy Heart Day

February 16, 2021

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share how we spent our Heart day with you! Do you celebrate the holiday? or have traditions you do year after year? Would love to hear all about them.

Ours was cozy at home with myself, my hubby and our little fur babies. We don’t really do gifts or such, ours is generally spent at home, we like to cook dinner together, have some wine and watch a good movie! I still like to keep things fun by doing a little extra, as you get to know me you will see I love any excuse to bring in a theme, and celebrating a holiday gives me a chance to do just that!

I also wanted to do a few deliveries to my local “Galentines”, so I broke out the cookie cutters to make a sweet treat to deliver on Valentine’s morning. I love baking and how adorable did these little cookies turned out.

Of course I had to do some heart shaped cookies, and I kept these simple with just some pretty sprinkles and white icing
next up some pretty pink sparkly lips!
Little love letters, sealed with a pink fondant heart and this little plate I picked up at Homesense was perfect and matches the little jar I added to my sweet station here!
and last but not least these little pink hearts with a sugared rose and scrolled outline
I may have sampled a cookie or three …

I picked up some little bottles of bubbly, acrylic glasses with gold lettered cheers! on them, as well as little gold baskets both of which I picked up from the local dollar store, never overlook the dollar store you can find some great things there! Packed up the cookies, added a valentine and headed out to do my doorstep deliveries!

How perfect are these cards… they were actually my inspiration, after finding these my idea to make these little baskets came to life
I love how they turned out! Seriously the cutest!

Next up a night in with my Hubby … I have wanted to make a little dessert charcuterie for so long, and what better time to do it then Valentine’s Day, it was a perfect way to end to the evening, sipping some rose, and enjoying treats dipped in chocolate ganache.

How perfect is this cote de roses wine for a holiday where roses are front and center
The dessert charcuterie included sugar waffles, hazelnut wafer bites, marshmallows, raspberry almond chocolate bark, pretzels and of course strawberries!

I loved how it all turned out and can’t wait to do one of these boards on a bigger scale when we can entertain again! Also I’ll be sharing the recipe for this delicious chocolate ganache later this week so stay tuned, cause it is too yummy not to share! Whether you spent your day with a spouse, partner, loved one, family or simply spoiling yourself I hope you had a loved filled Valentine’s Day!
