Halloween Home Tour
Hi Everyone and Happy Monday! I am so excited to share my Halloween home tour with you, I had so much fun creating this spook-tacular space this year. I love love love Halloween, then again I feel like I love every holiday, I guess I just need a little excuse to change things up and I find Halloween let’s me be even more creative and whimsical which is right up my alley. I decided on the theme of a witches coven, a place where spells and potions would be whipped up and added to their library. Most of my décor has been collected over the years, and I’ll move it around and change it up each year, I usually purchase a few new things seasonally and then I add in items I have on hand, like candlesticks, jars, bowls, etc. to complete the look.
I added paper bats also throughout, which I just keep in place with painters tape it is perfect as it doesn’t mark the wall and also easily pulls off the paper for you to keep and use year after year. I then added in black birds, spooky critters in jars, potions and spell books, lots of candles and some statues too! The runner I just glued together torn out book pages to complete the look and tie it together with the other décor throughout! You will see why a little later!
Stacked brooms and of course a place for the witches to “hang” up their hat, and a stack of cauldrons ready for mixing potions!
Paxton looks like he may be a little spooked by everything he is seeing around here!
With our living, kitchen and dining area being open concept I wanted everything to flow together and continued the witches coven theme through out the whole room.
Of course I had to add some candy apples and a spell in case anyone dare to eat them! Can you name the Disney movie this spell is from?
I finally ordered this Death and Co. Cocktail book I have wanted forever, and it was the perfect addition to my cookbook stand. If you love it too you can can grab one of your own here!
To our the tray we keep beside the stove with cooking essentials I added this poison bottle shaped chopping board, a poison apple, and some creepy crawlies!
Potion bottles are a must in a witches coven, so I added a long wooded footed tray and filled it with bottles, candles, a few critters and cobwebs and I loved how it turned out! Then you can see another peek at a floating hat and some more bottles and ingredients on the tiered tray on the window sill.
Sometimes it’s the littlest things that I love, like this boo jar, with the grinning jack-o-lantern on top! It reminds me so much of The Nightmare before Christmas.
These potions bottle are another favourite of mine and I always look forward to unpacking them, I have collected them over the years and try to find or make a new one each year.
Now onto probably my favourite area! The perfect place to type those books of spells and potions!
Remember that book page runner that ties the two spaces together, here you will find another one, along with floating book pages and a spot that’s just perfect for a witch at work! My love for antiques paid off here with this vintage typewriter I pulled out of storage, along with some old silver! (PS- The candlesticks were from our wedding!)
I got this iron crow last year and absolutely love it, and then below you can see I added this candle snuffer this year, I couldn’t pass it up with its wand like handle it so perfect!
This space turned out even better than I imagined, its so whimsical and creates such an awesome scene!
Oh and before I forget I would like to introduce you to our friend you will see him over on Instagram helping us out from now till Halloween night … Albert Spinestein!
